Evolon 80 ~ white – per metre 90 cms wide ~ £6.00 This medium weight Evolon can be dyed, printed, cut and sewn, the same as any traditional textile. Transfer dyes work particularly well. This weight of Evolon is very soft and suede like. It feels wonderful to sew. This fabric can be cut with a soldering iron and will eventually distress with a 350 watt heat gun but this can take some time . . . . . . ! Evolon® is a unique microfilament . Like traditional microfiber, it is soft, drapable and light, but it is also very strong. It is very absorbent, but quick to dry and breathable. |

The beginnings of a stitched sample!!!! The blue background is painted with procion dye. (I use dye powder and water only, this not washable). Another piece was painted with pink procion dye which I then transfer printed when it was dry. The pink layer was cut into strips with a soldering iron and stitched down. (or will be eventually . . . ) |
