Pelmet Vilene
A walk in the park by Lee Brown
This box is constructed from HPV+ (Heavy Pelmet Vilene Plus). This product has heat activated glue on one side that reacts the same as Bondaweb. Lee has used the none glue side to decorate the HPV+ with a soldering iron and procion dyes. Anyone who has been to Barcelona and to Guell Park should recognise the painted scenes.

Lutradur
Having had a good play with various types of colouring media, I have found dyes work best on Lutradur. Dyes don’t add a thick layer of colour as paints do and therefore won’t stop the Lutradur being distressed by heat. Procion dye is the quickest and most efficient way to colour Lutradur and retains a matt finish. Normally used to dye natural fabrics it is washable and colourfast. Lutradur isn’t washable so Procion powder can be mixed with water and used as an ink. Transfer printing Lutradur with Disperse dyes is also very effective.
(Always take care not to inhale any dye powders)
