Hot Stuff Sheets

Hot Stuff Sheets

Plastazote is a thermoplastic foam that can be heated and have textures pressed into it and will not give off fumes when heated.

The Hot Stuff! sheets have been cut to just 3mm in depth so you can machine or hand stitch into it. It is available in black and white. The sheets can be cut with scissors, knives or a soldering iron and can be coloured with any waterbased media, metallic "rub ons" are particularly good.

To impress textures into your sheet - just heat with a heat gun or an iron and baking parchment. You need to work fast, so have everything ready before you start to heat. To create your textures you can use printing blocks, dried beans, kitchen tools the choice is endless. Press your texture firmly into the sheet and hold until cool, you should have a perfect impression.

Hot Stuff! sheets can also be decorated with "Jones Tones" or "Tonertex" heat transfer foils without any glue, just iron , with the foil colour side up, directly onto the sheets, using baking parchment between the iron and the foil.

Picture left - Strips of Hot Stuff sheets ironed onto painted Bondaweb, reheated and impressed with a wooden printing block. Metallic "rub ons" were then added and the whole thing was free machine stitched.
